Happy National Women’s Small Business Month!

Working Solutions is celebrating woman-owned businesses by highlighting their important contributions to the local and U.S. economy.

According to a recent infographic from SCORE, in the U.S. there are approximately 11.3 million woman-owned businesses, supporting nearly 9 million jobs and generating $1.6 trillion in annual revenues. The number of women business owners has also risen from 29% in 2007 to 38% in 2016. Since 2007, women are starting businesses at a rate five-times faster than the national average or roughly 1,071 woman-owned firms starting every day!

Woman-owned businesses are also an important part of the economic growth right here in the Bay Area. Part of the Working Solutions’ mission is to provide women entrepreneurs, in all nine Bay Area counties, with the access to capital and resources they need to start of grow a successful business. Since 2005, Working Solutions has funded 225 woman-owned businesses or 59% of our entire portfolio to date. These female entrepreneurs represent a variety of sectors from manufacturing and production, to restaurants and fitness. Based in Napa, California, Adanta, Inc. is a specialized niche provider of environmental services offering solid technical qualifications in a range of services, while providing custom, personal customer service to their clients.
