Working Solutions is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution that supports underserved San Francisco Bay Area entrepreneurs to start and grow thriving local businesses.  We specialize in start-up and early stage financing for individuals residing in the nine Bay Area counties. We provide:

  • Capital in the form of affordable microloans, $5,000-$50,000 with fixed, reasonable rates and small business grants.

  • Consulting customized for the needs of our client’s business. Our one-on-one consultations focus on skill-building so that clients can apply what they learn to their businesses in order to achieve long term success.

  • Community connections. We build the confidence of our local business owners, help them connect with their local community members, city services, and other pro bono or low-cost support so that they can thrive and keep our communities diverse, vibrant and full of local flavor.

Our Impact

We create economic opportunity and build financial self-sufficiency through entrepreneurship and promote microenterprise growth as a strategy to strengthen the local economy, create jobs and build strong communities. Our loan clients have created or retained nearly 3,000 jobs; 46% of our clients were start ups and 77% in the early stage of their businesses. Visit our About Us page to learn more about the results of our support.
